- I'm a textile artist and designer and have my own business which is now in its third year: Ingrid Wagner Rug & Art Creation, featuring gun tufted rugs and exciting Big Knitting. I work with Big Knit needles 400mm, 600mm & 1.2m length, 25 - 30mm diameter - they make knitting fast, fun & exciting. I also use a fab recycled Big Knit yarn which is 1" wide and is made up of the selvedge from newly woven wool fabrics. It comes with colour and pattern already woven in, it would otherwise be discarded as waste and it's really great for knitting substantial interior textiles with. Check out my blog for news on the year long Big Knit Project which is aiming to create the world's largest one piece knitted textile on 4 metre long needles, raising funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in the process. I'm a great fan of colour, I'm also a painter and I also run Ingrid Wagner Real World Journeys: Creative Skills trips to Morocco. I'm based in an artistic community in the superb Northumbrian countryside at Kirkharle Courtyard.
